Merco Talento 2024: Pacasmayo lidera el sector en atracción de talento por noveno año consecutivo

  • The cement company achieved a total of 7,029 points, surpassing the 6,922 points obtained in 2023.

The Merco Talento ranking revealed the results of the best companies to attract and retain talent in the country, highlighting Cementos Pacasmayo as one of them. The Peruvian company consolidates its leadership for the ninth consecutive year, positioning itself as the highest-rated in its sector thanks to its initiatives and actions related to talent management.

In this year’s edition, the cement company ranked 19th overall, standing out for promoting strategic initiatives focused on its employees to foster an innovative work environment centered on personal development and professional growth. These initiatives are framed within one of its sustainability pillars, “We Cultivate Extraordinary Talent,” resulting in an engagement index of 86.4% among its employees.

The evaluation considered information from 35,000 surveys provided by employees themselves, Human Resources executives, university students, business school students, academics, and headhunters, which were added to a comparative analysis of the 100 companies included in the ranking. Pacasmayo’s results reflect the positive perception and trust that different stakeholders have in the company as an employer.

“We are proud to see the results of our initiatives, which reflect the effort and dedication of our entire team. For Pacasmayo, ‘Cultivating Extraordinary Talent’ means much more than training good professionals; it means committing to their well-being, developing their skills, and ensuring teamwork around a shared purpose. We seek their professional growth, inclusion, and retention to Build Together the Future We Dream Of. That is why we design initiatives and policies centered on our employees, with the goal of making Pacasmayo the place where they can reach their best version,” said Camila Sauleda, Talent Management Manager at Cementos Pacasmayo.

According to information presented by the company in its 2023 Integrated Annual Report, it has invested approximately 21 hours of training per employee and offers various internal programs aimed at addressing different employee needs, such as the “Vamos a Casa” program, which promotes flexible schedules for mothers in the postnatal stage, and “Vivamos Saludables,” an initiative that promotes mental health in the workplace.

On the other hand, Pacasmayo values the contribution of diversity in creating and maintaining business leadership. In 2022, it launched “Pacasmayo Plural,” its diversity and inclusion program. It also has other initiatives such as “Constructoras del Futuro,” aimed at increasing the participation of women in the construction sector.

These practices have enabled the company not only to attract top professionals in the market but also to cultivate an environment of satisfaction and commitment that drives Pacasmayo’s growth and success.
